Ghassoul
Is one of the natural clay minerals with a particularly high silicon content. Its name is not derived from lava rock as one might assume, but from the Latin “lavare” which means “to wash”. Rhassoul’s unique cleansing properties are based on a simple physical principle. As a sheet silicate it has highly absorbent properties. Rhassoul swells when mixed with water. It binds dirt and excess fat particles, absorbs them like blotting paper, and allows them to be easily rinsed off. It is therefore increasingly used as a detergent.
